Ridley Scott In Talks For Alien 5

In an exclusive interview with IESB the Co-chairman of Fox, Tom Rothman has revealed that the company are in preliminary talks with original Alien director Ridley Scott with regards a fifth Alien movie.

Roth told IESB, “There’s been some talk…I think he’s toying with the idea… and that would be great for us. It’s always been a matter of, really, if you could get the originator to do it… So we have our fingers crossed.”

It would seem that the Alien v Predator franchise is well and truly over. Last week it was announced that Sin City director Robert Rodriguez would be restarting the whole Predator franchise with a concept of a Predators movie, and now this news that another Alien film will be produced and by none other than the original director.

One sticking point could be getting Sigourney Weaver involved, she’s always been frosty about a fifth film, and supposedly very demanding regarding her salary. Plus, she’s getting on a bit. My suggestion would be to ditch Sigourney and enlist a younger fresher version, Terminator SCC star Summer Glau looks just like a younger version of Sigourney Weaver.
