Joey Bashing

A sick kangaroo cull in Australia has angered animal rights activists.

The Australian Government has ordered that 15% of New South Wales’ grey kangaroo population must be culled for “commercial reasons”. That’s said to be over 150,000 Skippies, and it gets worse than that.

Government guidelines in place instruct the Skippy hunters to kill any joeys found in a dead kangaroo’s pouch by decapitating or bludgeoning the poor little critters to death. The same goes for any joeys found bouncing about in the wild on their own, they must be shot or beaten to death.

I don’t know what the bounty for a kangaroo is likely to be, but how much would you want to bash a joey’s brains out with a big stick? Just look at it’s cute little face.
