Bloc Party Playing Glastonbury

Bloc Party drummer Matt Tong has let slip that the band will be appearing at this years Glastonbury festival.

The band were in an interview with Xfm’s Phil Clifton before the band performed a live set for the radio station. During the interview Matt mistakenly told Phil that the Glastonbury appearance had been announced. Lead singer Kele Okereke tried to avoid the question but Matt appears to have put his foot in it.

“I don’t know what’s been announced, so it’s difficult to talk about it, but I think Reading has been announced,” said Kele.

“And Glastonbury?”, added Matt Tong.

“No, I don’t think that’s been announced yet, Matt”, replied Kele.

So I think it’s safe to say the band will be at both Reading/Leeds and Glastonbury this year.
