PrimevalITV dinosaur drama Primeval is heading for the Hollywood Hills, Primeval production company Impossible Pictures has agreed a deal with US film studio Warner Bros to turn the Saturday night TV show into a blockbuster film.

Work will begin on the film later this year, as yet there is no word on who will be starring in the movie so it may not include the British cast members. Original star of the show Douglas Henshall was killed off in this weekend’s edition of the programme but a movie adaptation would be a great excuse for him to reprise his role as Professor Nick Cutter.

Another angle to consider is the other news that Primeval creator Tim Haines is also in talks to create a US TV version of the show. One can’t help but think that Douglas Henshall chose a really bad time to leave a franchise which is seemingly going from strength to strength.
