Loudmouth comedienne Catherine Tate will be appearing in the Doctor Who Christmas Special it is confirmed.
The ginger actress has now been spotted filming the show in Cardiff alongside David Tennant and her on screen grandfather Bernard Cribbins. Tate who plays Donna Noble left the show at the end of last season when it emerged her character had become half human half Time Lord and would suffer a brain tragedy if the Doctor didn’t erase her memories and take her home back on Earth after defeating the evil Daleks led by Davros in the season finale.
Well now Tate’s many fans can look forward to seeing her in the run up to the Doctor’s imminent regeneration where David Tennant will hand over the lead role to newcomer Matt Smith. Matt will be the 11th Doctor, if you include Paul McGann which I don’t like to. Who spotters have been keeping a close eye on BBC Wales film crews as they film at locations around Cardiff and yesterday they caught a glimpse of Tate filming a scene wearing thick winter clothes and larking around with Bernard Cribbins. Whether Tate will return to the show full time as the Doctor’s regular assistant is yet unknown, recent speculation has included Michelle Ryan or Kelly Brook as the next Doctor’s assistant but Ryan’s appearance in the Doctor Who Easter Special last weekend would suggest she isn’t likely to return.
