Worshipers at a church in Sweden have been celebrating the Easter festival by unveiling a statue of Jesus Christ constructed entirely from Lego®.
The statue consists of 30,000 donated Lego® bricks and stands 1.8 meters high. It took 40 volunteers 18 months to construct the effigy which stands with arms outstretched. The plastic idol is displayed at the back of the altar at the Onsta Gryta church in the central Swedish city of Vasteras and is a replica of the sculpture of Christ created by Danish artist Bertel Thorvaldsen which stands in Copenhagen.
The church was filled to capacity this Easter Sunday morning for the grand unveiling.
