Man Steals Shark

A New York man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a shark from a Long Island pet shop. The man entered the store and simply reached into the nurse shark’s aquarium, pulled the $350 fish from it’s home and smuggled it out of the shop under his jacket.

Police investigating say when they searched the man’s apartment they also discovered a green moray eel being kept in the same aquarium as the stolen shark. The eel had been purchased using a stolen credit card a few days after the man lifted the shark.

“This guy obviously has a thing for fish,”Brendan Jones, a worker at the store the eel was taken from, told the New York Post “But he obviously made a poor decision.”

Both fish are said to be physically unharmed by their experience, but they may now be mentally scarred for the rest of their lives.
