Kelly BrookActress, model and TV presenter Kelly Brook is being strongly tipped to be The Doctor’s new assistant in the next season of the smash TV show.

Doctor Who is set to return to our screens in 2010 in a regular time slot after David Tennant fulfills his contract with four special shows this year and hands the iconic role over to virtual unknown Matt Smith. And the rumour mill is already working overtime speculating on who will be joining the cast along with Smith.

One source is speculating that singer and chat show host Lily Allen could be in with a shot, but here at The Morningstarr* we’re closely following the rumour that curvy Kelly Brook will be the next passenger in the Tardis.

Kelly has revealed in an interview that casting agents from the Doctor Who production company attended a performance of Neil LaBute’s Fat Pig, the West End play she recently starred in.

“I mean, I know some casting directors came to see my play but that’s as far as I know. I don’t know anything about it. If I don’t get the job then you know I wasn’t very good in the play. Of course it would be fantastic, it’s a great show.” she told reporters.

If Kelly is successful in her bid to be the Doctor’s new assistant she follows in a long line of Sci-Fi beauties including Nicola Bryant, Billie Piper, Katy Manning, Freema Agyeman and Catherine Tate.
