Necrophilia case in Namibia

A 30 year old mortuary attendant has been charged with violation of a dead body after it was discovered that he’d raped the corpse of a 44 year old woman who had died in a horrific road accident.

The man who goes by the name of Van Hendricks was seen by mortuary security entering the mortuary on December 23rd and locking himself inside. Moments later the security guards heard a load clatter and went to investigate. When they found the door locked from the inside they called the police. When the police also failed to gain entry they went to the home of Van Hendricks to obtain the key from him. He was taken back to the mortuary where he unlocked the doors and police discovered the naked body of an unnamed woman on the floor, and two used condoms nearby.

The police immediately arrested Van Hendricks and he has been refused bail.

The police speculate that Van Hendricks dropped a large mortuary tray as he lifted the woman off a storage shelf. He then had sex with the corpse, but was unable to lift it back onto the shelf.

Necrophilia is almost unheard of in Namibia, the local residents are reported to be deeply distressed.
