Crazy Cat Lady

The home of a 49 year old woman in Nebraska US has been raided by town officials after reports of excessive amounts of cats living at the premises.

The Nebraska Humane Society entered the house wearing face masks and protective overalls, they discovered the building to be littered with animal faeces and plagued with mites. In total there were 114 cats roaming the house, along with two dogs and a rabbit, residents in the area are only permitted up to three dogs and five cats.

The animals were suffering from mite infestations and respiratory problems. Mark Lanagan from the Humane society told us that he would be destroying some of the animals.

But the story doesn’t end there, this is far from the first house found to be overrun with felines and stinking of cat shit, on top of all the live animals that were discovered in the house the unnamed woman who shared the house with her two grown children also kept 17 dead cats in her freezer. At time of going to press there was no explanation as to why the corpses were kept in the freezer.

A neighbour who had never spoken to the people who lived there had this to say:

“It is a terrible thing, a terrible thing for the animals — and a terrible thing for the lady”.
