New Zealand pornographer Steve Crow says the annual Boobs on Bikes parade will go ahead on the 20th August, despite the lack of official approval.
The convoy of topless porn stars has taken place in New Zealand for the past few years, to promote the Erotica Expo organised by Crow that has been held in Auckland every year since 2000.
The boob parade has been somewhat controversial however, Auckland City Council have branded the spectacle “sleazy” and are refusing to cooperate with Crow to organise traffic control or public safety.
Crow hasn’t been deterred by the lack of official support though, he says the parade doesn’t require official sanctioning and will go ahead regardless. A police spokesman said there was nothing they could do to prevent the Boobs on Bikes parade taking place, as being topless in public was simply not illegal in New Zealand.
“This is a moral issue, not a criminal one” the spokesman said.
The only reason to stop the parade would be for a breach of the peace, at that point crowd control would have to be brought in to break up the topless revelers.
As you can see from the picture, all rules of the road are complied to during the parade including the use of helmets.
