A teenager broke into the home of two sisters in their late teens and early twenties, and stole items of their underwear before fleeing the scene of the crime.
18-year-old John Forrest, from Eskhill in Scotland, entered the home of the two young women at around 11pm. As one of the sisters sat downstairs with her boyfriend, and the younger woman sat in her bedroom, Forrest crept upstairs and rummaged through one of the women’s lingerie drawers. He seized several items of undergarments and fled the scene. However on leaving the house a security light was activated and Mr Forrest was spotted by one of the women and her boyfriend.
The woman’s boyfriend, Stewart Davidson, gave chase down the street following a trail of abandoned knickers until he caught hold of Mr Forrest. At this point Forrest bit Mr Davidson on the arm, in a bid to escape his grip.
The two sisters then arrived at the scene and Mr Forrest was held until police arrived. Although a sexual motive was assumed by investigating officers Mr Forrest has refused to comment.
Mr Forrest was sentenced to three months in a young offenders institute today by Edinburgh Sheriff Court after pleading guilty to all charges.
